in stoneridge. does the u.s. have a special relationship with israel? gibson: it is a special relationship. as a young man, 26 years old in the persian gulf war, as we were making our move up towards iraq and having the opportunity for a few minutes to listen to the bbc and here that some of those were landing in israel, i will tell you that at that point, the student of history and i feared for regional and maybe even a world war. we asked israel at that moment to do something that no country should never ask another country. that was not retaliate. israel did that. even though they had people killed and property destroyed. they did that for us. i cannot even adequately describe. i could not fully understand. i could certainly receive the information, but i could not understand. i will never forget that. it is a very special relationship and we share the same values and democratic process. israel is a friend that we will always be there for. proud to support the agreement that we have with them, making sure that they are prepared to defend themselves, just about $3 billion a year and 70%

type of individual who is ready to stand very, very firmly by u.s. allies, particularly israel. and someone who is very different by nature with, compared with president obama. melissa: so what do you think he would do on day one that would stop iran in its tracks? >> he has himself said that he is ready to tough inch the sanctions which are already in place. and, i also believe that it would send sufficient signals to tehran they need to capitulate their nuclear program. they have absolutely no opportunity to once more use the delaying tactics to give some kind of negotiations in order to gain time. let's not forget. right now president obama's government is engaged in secret talks with iran. all that sends the wrong signals to the regime in tehran because they believe they can gain time having this kind of negotiations. melissa: i hear you but, say mitt romney were elected and came in with an iron fist. wouldn't that cause them to accelerate the timeline that we better do this quick and because the u.s. is not messing around and they get to the bomb quicker? >> regime has use

right, my top issue is that there's all this controversy about whether or not israel is going to go to war with iran. and when president obama spoke about the big yellow bird, i don't think he was talking about the big yellow bird, i think he was talking, you know, big bird on tv, i think he was talking about china. china, you know, chinese people, oriental people are referred to as yellow. china has the largest population on earth, a billion people. they have so many people that they force women to have abortions. they have no respect for human life at all. and china is friends with iran. china is trading partners with iran. if we help israel go to war with iran, then we're going to have to deal with an angry china, and i think that's a really big problem, and we have to just put a stop to it and negotiate peace. >> well, as i said in the opening statement that, um, i really feel that our biggest problem is the deficit, but i believe that the reason why we haven't been able to, um, to lower the national debt is because our political system is broken. and we need to fix it, or this

choose obama and in germany 92%. in israel polls strongly favor romney who has vocally supported potential action against iran's nuclear facility. continuity and aid have been important to nations in transition. >> there are people that are worried that the muslim brotherhood is going to run amuck and not sure what they expect america to do or how gentle they want that american president to be but see something as to potentially save them from an islamist in egypt. >> reporter: what about china, on the break of an important party election of its own. >> how the work will be going in china. >> reporter: analysts say the reason so many europeans might be so reluctant to see an administration change in the u.s. is because they worry about what's forging that new relationship would mean to them, and politically speaking to them change doesn't necessarily have a positive connotation. in some of their own experiences lately, it's only worsened problems like with youth unemployment. savannah. >> michelle kosinski in london this morning, thank you so much. >>> just ahead, how well does c
